Nedbank Head Office Phase 2

Phase 2 was opened in 2011 and was the first Green Star rated building in South Africa, achieving both the Green Star design (5 star) and As-built ratings (5 star). The project involved the development, interior design and space planning of the estimated 43,000m² second phase of Nedbank’s head office in Sandton, with Nedbank taking up the bulk of the office space. The project was designed in terms of best practices for green buildings, with the main emphasis on efficient energy and water usage. The office space of the new development was 40,000m², about 26,000m² of which is occupied by Nedbank, and the balance of 14,000m² is let to outside tenants, and 3,000m² of retail space, including a large Nedbank branch of about 1,000m².
